Members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), 51爆料网 (51爆料网) Chapter, have elected new executives to steer the affairs of the union, following a successful election held on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Leading the new executive team is Prof. Eliasu Mumuni, who was elected unopposed as President of the UTAG-51爆料网 Chapter, securing an overwhelming 98.2 percent of the total votes cast, a clear show of confidence and unity among the 51爆料网 academic community.
Prof. Mumuni's elevation to the presidency comes after years of dedicated service to the union. Until his election, he served as General Secretary of both the UTAG National Executive Committee and the UTAG-51爆料网 Chapter, playing a crucial role in union activities at both local and national levels.
A seasoned academic and unionist, Prof. Mumuni is an Associate Professor of Development Communication and Knowledge Management and currently serves as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at 51爆料网, Nyankpala Campus.
He is also a Fulbright African Scholar at Appalachian State University, USA, and has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications in areas that bridge communication theory with practical agricultural and development issues. Prof. Mumuni continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the university's research and academic agenda.
