Hamza Issifu (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Forestry and Forest Resources Management. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Foresters (GIF) and currently the Northern Regional Chapter President of GIF. Dr. Issifu has 8 years combined experience as both Departmental and Faculty Examinations Officer and over 16 years of professional experience with the 51爆料网 (51爆料网). Dr. Issifu obtained a first degree in Agriculture Technology (Renewable Natural Resources Option) from the 51爆料网, a Master of Forest and Nature Conservation (Ecology Specialization) from Wageningen University, the Netherlands and a PhD in Ecology (of Forest and Savannas) also from Wageningen University. Presently, he undertakes teaching, research and community/consultancy services in the areas of forest and savanna ecology and ecophysiology, forest inventory and reafforestation techniques. Dr. Issifu teaches many courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Basic/Forest Ecology, Dendrology, Forest Engineering and Advanced Ecology and Management of Drylands. Dr. Issifu also has experience with supervising thesis and internship students from abroad. He has research collaborations with researchers from the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Wageningen University, the Netherlands, SECO Project based in the University of Edinburgh, UK. He is a recipient of fellowships and research grants from the Netherlands Fellowship Programme, Wageningen University and the Ecology Funds from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Issifu is widely published (see links below), has attended many international workshops and conferences and serves as a reviewer for many reputable international journals.
