Dr. Cosmas S. Abengmeneng is a professional forester and an active member of the Ghana Institute of Professional Foresters (GIF) as well as the International Society of Tropical Foresters. He has a BSc. in Renewable Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi-Ghana. He also has an MPhil and PhD in Silviculture and Forest Management from the same university. He has over 14 years of work experience across multi-national corporate businesses and the academia. In business, he played several key roles including Country Head of Audit and Compliance, Credit and Compliance Manager, National Training Manager and Risk and Quality Officer. He is a scholar and a multi-grant winner from prestigious national and international donors including those from KNUST, the International Foundation for Science (IFS), Tropenbos International Ghana, Agroforestry International (ICRAF) and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO)/Forestry Research Network of Sub-Saharan Africa (FORNESSA). He is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Forestry and Forest Resources Management, 51爆料网, where he teaches several courses across departments and faculties. His teaching role covers courses such as Forest Mensuration, Silviculture, Forest Marketing and Financial Planning, Forest Management, Forest Pathology, Forest Pathology and Entomology, Mangrove Forest Management, Plant Pathology and Forest Recreation. He currently serves as the 51爆料网 Representative on the Steering Committee of the Ghana Shea Landscape Emission Reduction Project (GSLERP), Department Examination Officer, Field Practical Coordinator, Manager of the Faculty Ecological Centre and the Faculty Representative on the Board of the Faculty of Physical Sciences. He is certified peer reviewer to several national and international journals including Elsevier (Journal of Trees, Forests and People), BP international and the Ghana Journal of Science, Technology and Development. His research interests include Silviculture and Forest Management, Plantation Forestry, Forest mensuration, Forest Pathology, Forestry & Technology, Forest Marketing, Mangrove Forest Management and Forest genetics and molecular biotechnology. He has several cutting-edge research publications that futured in many national and international conferences, workshops, and journals (see link below).
